山东省荣成市属暧温带季风区海洋性气候，具有四季分明、气候温和、冬少严寒、夏无酷暑、季风明显、空气湿润、降水集中等特点，这样的气候环境为鲍鱼育苗提供了优越的自然条件。眼下正值养殖鲍鱼增肥提质的关键期，连日来，在荣成市鲍鱼养殖区，渔民们驾驶渔船出海作业，喂食鲍鱼，清理鲍鱼表壳上的附着物，提高成品鲍鱼的质量和产量。目前，荣成市鲍鱼养殖面积1.2万亩，成品鲍产量3.1万吨，当地海区环境优良，具备良好的鲍鱼产品加工生产的基础和优势。经过多年发展，已形成鲍鱼养殖、加工、运输、交易等较完整的产业链条，鲍鱼产业已成为当地主要的渔业经济支柱和特色产业之一。
